About Mrs. McClain

 

I am thrilled to teach 1st grade at Coulson Tough! I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you this year. As an introduction, here’s a little about me: 

  • I’m a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I’ve enjoyed being a mom, substitute teacher, and working in our church’s Children’s Ministry program for the last few years. I am REALLY excited to bring all of this experience to our classroom this year.  

  • My husband, Gordon, and I have two of the most precious daughters in the whole wide world, Grace and Ella. Grace is going into 2nd grade this year. Ella will be in Kindergarten. Both will be attending Coulson-Tough.

  • I love animals and have two pets: a dog named Kobe and a cat named Fury. 

  • I have the usual hobbies such as traveling, gardening, reading, and cooking (or more specifically, EATING), but family is my biggest hobby. It’s my family that I have the most fun with, can count on to support and encourage me no matter what, and to tell me how it really is when necessary. 

This family formula works very well in the classroom too. I look forward to creating a family environment in our classroom where the students have fun, feel supported and encouraged, and recieve the direction needed to succeed.
